Celebrity politics and gender

10 01 2012

At the annual conference of the Media, Communication and Culturual Studies Association (MECCSA) in Luton (UK, January 12-14, 2012) I will present a paper called Female candidates in Grazia: how young people make sense of celebrity politics (co-authored with my Rotterdam colleague Peter Achterberg).  The paper is part of a panel my Loughborough colleagues and myself organised on changes in political communication coming from trends like intimization and celebritization.
