Nice day in Amsterdam with ASCoR PhD-students

12 04 2012

Went a bit down memory lane today, in a session with a new generation of PhD students of the Amsterdam School of Communication Science (ASCoR). They presented their projects for their direct colleagues who could ask questions, and Peter Neijens, Hans Beentjes and myself commented in more detailed ways. Interesting projects, the one I liked best was about ‘guilty houses’, expanding the work of Stijn Reijnders on dark tourism into tourism to the horror-houses of the Wests, Dutroux and Franzl. One does need a strong stomach to do that kind of research. But good to hang out with former colleagues.
