Paris, Crossroads

2 07 2012

Presenting a paper about the Red Hat Society, with Samira van Bohemen, an extremely talented PhD student at Erasmus University. Traveling with her and Stef Aupers, will be fun. And chairing a plenary, as part of good academic citizenship.

Apart from some organisational and security hick ups (forbidden to have lunch on the lawn in 28 degrees!), it was a good conference with a couple of really good papers. e.g. by Kinneret Lahad of Tel Aviv University about the discursive construction of singlehood as a liminal in-between category of waiting.
