Our exhibit at the British Science Festival in Newcastle

26 09 2013

We pitched for a presence at the British Science Festival and were awarded with an exhibition space in Newcastle’s Public Library. We presented our research in a kiosk containing our artefacts (smart scarf, smart jewellery, psychic ID card), our videos (animated results and a collage of sci-fi fragments) and our results (through posters). We also offered the possibility to play the research game.

It was fascinating to be in the public library, which definitely drew a different crowd than the university exhibits. It enabled us to engage with ‘ordinary’ members of the public. One of our researchers wrote down her experience on our blog and it captures pretty much what went on in general. Our stakeholders also came over to visit and check our progress. We had fun. In the picture a rep from the stakeholders Peter Armstrong, and my IMPRINTS colleague Aletta Norval of Essex University.
