Dean’s Masterclass succesful

24 06 2014

On Friday June 13, what a great day, we held the first Dean’s Masterclass for the Graduate School of Erasmus University. It centered on research about families, from different disciplines; so we had a sociologists, historian, philosopher and an economist presenting their research, and then the students rotated along them to ask in depth questions and discuss more detail. After some moments of reflection I invited them to develop their own multidisciplinary ideas; three teams emerged that pitched their proposals to the expert jury.  It was fun and successful. I meant it as a sort of showcase for the variety of research that goes on in our grad school and that worked really well. A nice impression is here. I am planning the next one for October about games.

Thanks Wilfred, and convergence is the key to good academic fun as well, almost just as important!
