Columns for Sociologie Magazine

30 10 2014

Some time ago I became a column writer for Sociologie Magazine, a popular quartely. I was invited to produce some strong opinions about whatever I wanted, but felt that we have enough opinions in the regular news and debate genres. Decided instead to focus on topical issues in academica and research, if possible in a slighly ironic way. I started with a column on our gamified surveys, and then did one called ‘ data delirium’ , discussing the buzz around big data. The most recent one is about the stifling funding procedures in the Netherlands, and elaborating a bit on the UK sandpit model from which I managed to acquire a couple of millions (no typo). You can’t find the columns online, but if you would like to buy the magazine, or better, subscribe, you can do so here [click].
